I came to psychiatry the long way. Before I focused on mental health, I worked emergency medicine, correctional psychiatry across Alaska, and community health settings where psychiatric care was scarce and patients were underserved. I've sat across from people in crisis, people who'd been dismissed by every provider they'd tried, and people who had given up on getting help entirely. That background shaped how I practice.

I started this practice because I believe psychiatric care should be thorough, honest, and human. I read your chart before your appointment — not while you're talking. I ask the questions most providers skip. I won't make you feel like a drug seeker for asking about your medication. Treatment decisions here are based on clinical evaluation — not on what's easiest to defend.

I'm dual board-certified in psychiatric and family medicine, with 16+ years of clinical experience. My background includes community mental health, correctional psychiatry, emergency medicine, locum tenens telepsychiatry, and outpatient practice. I use objective QbCheck testing for ADHD evaluations when it adds clinical value.
